Good Eats: Chloe's Diner
It was......alright! I will go back again for more!
Chloe's Diner is attractive and overall a nice spot to visit in Massillon. The night we went to try it out there was a horrible windstorm and it knocked out power to many area restaurants which overloaded Chloe's who didn't lose power. Service kind of suffered. I could tell the staff was overwhelmed and they stated they had been busy all afternoon and into the evening when we we arrived. There is only so much seating and diner staff can only work so fast you know? So I get it that's fine.
What did bother me later was some of the waitresses were more interested in the tables with cute boys than those with families like mine. Overall the general experience was ok and I will go to Chloe's again when there is not a huge weather event stressing the staff out.
Let's talk about the atmosphere and then we'll talk about the good food!
Classic Cars, Bikes, Mopeds and More!
There are so many makes and models to look at all classic all beautiful, whoever invested in Chloe's Diner really spent a lot to show off their collection. Upfront is this super cute car thmed seat with working lights, a perfect photo op we couldn't resist!
Chloe's is known for their Sliders!
Their sliders come with caramelized onions and it makes all the difference in the world with the flavor. I got a little nervous with the slider patties being uniform in shape, did that mean that the burgers I was eating were frozen? I prefer fresh and grilled, the staff was too busy to ask. They may have a mold to use in the kitchen so I let it go. I know frozen is cost effective but it will ruin your flavor and eventually contribute to the downfall of a business. I know that sounds crazy but binge watching all the Kitchen rescue shows the one thing they have in common is "really fresh, never frozen". That is the agenda those shows push and for good reason. We live in Ohio, yes Massillon is a city but local beef is available, so there is no real reason to have frozen beef IF they do.
Remember I am not saying they do, I don't know.
The slider still tasted good no matter how it was sourced, ITS A BURGER duh, again I am saying fresh tastes better no matter where I'm eating. If you don't believe me go get a frozen patty, get fresh ground beef then cook them side by side and experience the difference.
Also, I can't read and I misunderstood the menu. The menu says "single, double or triple" for your sliders. I figured that meant the number of sandwiches not the number of patties. So I ordered a double and got a round of double cheeseburger sliders. Whoops! LOL
Andrew of course got the triple pictured nearby depending on what screen you are reading this on.
We also got Onion Rings - of course -
Tater Tots & Fries the essentials. Andrew added a chili sauce to his tots and took them to a Guy Fieri level of flavor-village I say that because I am too lazy to look up if the other word is trademarked.
Gotta get the root beer floats
I encountered a tiny thief, she is cute though so she can have it.
Thief Description: Curly hair, blonde, tiny, brown eyes, makes demands known, unable to sit still, a maniac!
#topgear If you know, you know
There is a whole row of classic cars for you to see inside but you really should stop by Chloe's Diner and see it for yourself. The only one that matters is the Chevelle. That's mama's car.
Be sure to Visit Chloe's Diner soon, I will go back and have more!
What gives us the right to write a review?
We own and run this website for one. We want people to stop going to chains and shop local as much as possible. We do want local businesses to hold themselves to the highest standard that they can. Reviews help them achieve and help average people spend their money more wisely. We're a couple of foodies who love dining out and we've watched WAAAAY too much Gordon Ramsey, Jon Taffer and Robert Irvine likely fake reality TV. Those shows do all have something in common though: Silverheads means the food is bland that is absolutely true, large menu means food costs are high and that is passed along to the customer, when things are truly bad for the owner an accountant is brought in on the show.
Gab works for an accountant during the day and sees many businesses struggling but equally the same owners not pushing themselves by annoying their accountants (you should) and watching their accounts like a hawk. A big misconception Gab had of the accounting industry was that accountants make the decision for the owners. No! Accountants get the accurate picture of what is going on [as long as you the owner participate, believe me we encounter too many owners that PAY for our service and DON'T give us what we need to do the job!]. Accountants can give advice for what to do next but ultimately the decision is on the owner. Accountants help the owner make an informed decision.
Gab's best advice for local businesses, get tech savvy, track everything, know what sells and what doesn't CONSTANTLY. Set the bar for a successful product and revise the non-best sellers. Annoy your accountant, track your money, ask for reports. Be present online and on social media it is NOT going away!
